Last updated: 17 May 2026
This policy explains how Amey Ellen Louise Lee t/As Heart Content ("we", "us", "our") collects, stores, and uses your personal information through our website at heartcontent.com.au. We take your privacy seriously and aim to be as clear and straightforward as possible about how we handle your data.
1. What information do we collect?
Depending on how you use our website, we may collect:
Your name
Email address
Phone number
Postal address
Payment details (see Section 5 for how this is handled)
We only collect information that’s actually needed to provide our services or communicate with you.
2. How do we collect it?
We collect your information in a few ways:
Directly from you — when you fill in a form, make a purchase, sign up to our mailing list, or get in touch with us
Automatically — through cookies and analytics tools when you browse our site (more on this below)
From third parties — occasionally, we may receive information about you from a third party (for example, a referral). When this happens, we’ll let you know where possible.
3. Why do we collect it
We use your information to:
Process your orders and deliver our services
Stay in touch with you about your purchases or enquiries
Send you updates, offers, or content we think you’ll find useful (only if you’ve opted in — and you can unsubscribe any time, see Section 8)
Improve how our website works, using anonymous, aggregated traffic data
4. Who do we share it with?
We only share your information when we genuinely need to. This includes:
Service providers who help us run our website and business (for example, our email platform, payment processor, or website host). These providers are only given the information they need to do their job, and they’re required to keep it secure.
Maintenance and technical support personnel, in the normal course of their work.
We do not sell your personal information to anyone. Ever.
5. Payments and financial information
We use Stripe to handle all transactions on our site. This means:
We never see or store your full credit card details on our website
Payment information is encrypted and handled directly by Stripe, in accordance with their own privacy and security standards
You can review Stripe’s privacy policy here: stripe.com/en-au/privacy
6. Cookies and analytics
Our website uses cookies — small files stored on your device — to help us understand how people use the site and to improve your experience. Cookies do not personally identify you.
We use Google Analytics to collect anonymous, aggregated data about site traffic. We also use Google and Meta (Facebook) advertising tools, which may use cookies or device identifiers to show you relevant ads based on your past visits to our site.
Want to opt out?
Google: Ads Preference Manager
Other ad networks: Network Advertising Initiative opt-out
Most browsers also let you block or delete cookies in your settings.
7. How do we keep your information safe?
We store your personal information securely and take reasonable steps to protect it from unauthorised access, misuse, or disclosure.
We keep your information only for as long as we need it. In most cases, client records are kept for up to 7 years to meet our legal obligations, after which we securely destroy or de-identify them.
8. Marketing and unsubscribing
If you’ve signed up to hear from us, we may occasionally send you updates, offers, or useful content. We hate spam as much as you do, so we’ll only send you things that are relevant and that you’d reasonably expect from us.
You can unsubscribe at any time — every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link, or you can email us directly and we’ll remove you straight away.
We never use sensitive personal information for marketing purposes.
9. Your rights: accessing and correcting your information
Under the Australian Privacy Principles, you have the right to:
Access the personal information we hold about you (Privacy Principle 12)
Correct any inaccurate information (Privacy Principle 13)
To request access or a correction, just contact us using the details at the bottom of this policy.
10. Sensitive Information
The Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) defines “Sensitive Information” as things like your racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, religious beliefs, health information, or criminal record.
We generally don’t collect sensitive information. On the rare occasion we do, we’ll only use it for the purpose it was collected for, or with your consent, or as required by law.
11. Data breaches
In the unlikely event of a data breach that is likely to cause you serious harm, we will notify you and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) in accordance with our obligations under the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme.
12. Overseas transfers
Some of our service providers (such as cloud storage or email platforms) may be located outside Australia. If your information is transferred overseas, we take reasonable steps to ensure it’s handled in accordance with the Australian Privacy Principles.
13. GDPR (European users)
Our website is not directed at people in the European Union, and we do not specifically monitor or target EU users. Accordingly, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) does not apply to our operations. However, our website does contain the option to opt-out of cookies and manage your preferences in accordance with the GDPR, and you’ll be prompted with this when you arrive at our website. If you are based in the EU and have concerns, please contact us.
14. Complaints
If you have a concern about how we’ve handled your personal information, please contact us first — we’d like the chance to sort it out.
All complaints are reviewed by Amey Lee. If we can’t resolve your concern to your satisfaction, you have the right to refer the matter to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.
15. Feedback
We love hearing from you. Any feedback you share with us may be stored and used to improve our website and services. It won’t be shared publicly without your permission.
